About me

Hello! I’m Isabelle Futsi (pronounced ‘Foot-see’), a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified EMDR therapist based in Los Angeles, CA. My unique name has taught me to embrace the lighter side of life, learning the value of humor and connection, which now influences my therapy practice. As a former child refugee and empath, my diverse background deeply informs my work, especially in understanding and resonating with various experiences.

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

I specialize in trauma therapy for adults in California and Colorado. My practice, Futsi Therapy, emphasizes authenticity and a holistic mind-body-soul connection. My expertise extends to areas like anxiety, depression, traumatic grief, burnout, chronic stress, complex family dynamics, and C/PTSD, combining professional training with personal insights. My best interventions often come from speaking directly from the heart.

My commitment to continuous education in trauma therapy ensures I use the latest, most effective techniques. This dedication is reflected in the high-quality, personalized care that leads to high client retention rates.

In therapy, we focus on building a strong connection and empowering your choices. I prioritize creating a warm, supportive environment that respects your healing pace. My approach is collaborative, honoring your voice and choices in guiding our work together. In our sessions, you can expect an atmosphere where your needs are heard and respected, and where communication is open and responsive. My clients often express how they appreciate the attentive, personalized care they receive, making their therapeutic journey not just effective, but also comforting and reassuring. A key principle in my approach, especially with trauma work, is understanding that sometimes slower is faster. This means we honor your nervous system’s pace, carefully navigating without pushing you beyond what you’re ready for.

While tackling serious issues, I integrate humor and lightness into our sessions, fostering an atmosphere of openness and comfort. This approach includes understanding your nervous system and engaging with your inner child.

Futsi Therapy offers a holistic, collaborative approach, embracing innovative modalities like EMDR, Brainspotting, Havening, and somatic-based therapies. These methods are effective for trauma work and provide a nurturing,  transformative space for those open to dynamic and impactful therapy experiences.

Education

I earned my M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

Prior to that, I earned a double Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Literature & Communications, with a minor in Theater, from the University of Judaism (now known as American Jewish University) in Los Angeles.

I am a licensed marriage & family therapist in California and Colorado, holding multiple certifications in trauma.

Therapy Speciality

I specialize in working with adults navigating PTSD/C-PTSD, trauma, and various challenges, including people-pleasing, high achiever anxiety, and depression, and assisting professionals in finding balance. My expertise also extends to creatives on unique paths and adults impacted by immature caregiving or the mother wound.

Additionally, I work with trauma survivors who have experienced various forms of abuse, including physical, sexual, and spiritual.

Our focus includes understanding the interplay between trauma, attachment, grief, and your personal history.

I have a particular affinity for supporting attorneys, mental health professionals, and professionals in the tech industry.

Recognizing the uniqueness of every individual’s story, our therapy approach is equally unique. We delve into learning about your nervous system, body awareness, and the intricate parts that comprise your inner landscape. You’ll gain access to resources and modalities like parts work, EMDR/EMDR 2.0, and Brainspotting, all tailored to meet your specific needs and goals.
